Mission
As, people’s medium we work towards, sharing, exchanging of ideas of all communities. We envisage, broadcasting dynamic programs for individual and community empowerment. Dissemination of education, culture, environment, agriculture and health related programs beyond the traditional framework, in a broader sense. The urban and rural communities themselves will create and broadcast these programs harnessing Radio Shivamogga as a platform. Radio Shivamogga, facilitates exchange of views, news, ideas for everyday life with the involvement of community members leading them towards a better and sustainable life.
About Radio Shivamogga.
Radio Shivamogga 90.8FM is a community Radio Station. It is our sincere pride that this is the first community Radio Station in Malenadu region. Also, it is our pride that this is the first Radio Station in the nation which focuses on education as its main objective. Radio Shivamogga, recognizes the need towards a comprehensive education, outside the traditional education system and devises programs in this regard. We see education in three levels, the Primary stage, the Higher education stage and Community education stage. The overall purpose of all of our programs is to provide education in these three stages and through that to become a platform towards enabling communities for sustainable living.
Radio Shivamogga wishes to be the voice for all communities. Our aim is to empower communities so that all Programs and its content, community’s educational needs, can be discussed, identified and generated by themselves. The programs are directed towards preservation and promotion of, environment, health, local languages, indigenous culture, folk art, and different art forms. Radio Shivamogga, will be a platform for every person and talent in our district and any one of them can make use of this platform for expressing their views, ideas & talent. Radio Shivamogga would strive to become the voice of each and every person belonging to any community in Malenadu Region.
